Network Leaders on the Move

We adapted our signature Women’s Health Leadership program to provide leadership training and group and individual coaching to 45 county public health staff and community leaders working together to increase access to healthy foods in 16 counties throughout California. Cultural responsiveness, equity, communications skills, conflict management, power differentials, community engagement, and emotional intelligence were among the menu of subjects and issues explored. Program outcomes included the development of new and culturally competent nutrition education curricula, assessment of healthy food retail, community solutions to inform land use and planning to increase healthy food access, and installation of local and EBT accessible farmer’s markets.
