Mission & History
For more than a decade, the Center for Collaborative Planning, a center of the Public Health Institute, has worked throughout California to promote health and well-being by engaging the capacity of local communities to act based on their own solutions.
Our strength lies in our ability to help communities and groups identify emerging issues, bring together relevant resources and engage in active problem-solving.
Our belief is that communities hold the answers to their unique challenges. Our role is to assist them in mobilizing their many resources in order to achieve positive social change.
We promote health and social justice by engaging the capacity of local communities to act based on their own solutions.
We recognize the importance of caring, nurturing and diverse environments that promote inclusively and full community participation.
Healthy communities are built on commitment and long-lasting relationships that foster collaboration and, ultimately, self-determination.
We believe in the power of people working together to achieve common goals.
